Seniors often find cruises to be the perfect vacation choice. The reasons for this are many. For one thing it offers an ambience that is entirely removed from daily life. It offers seniors warm relaxing days and fun filled nights filled with on board activities.
When it comes to expense, cruises are a good choice for seniors. Cruises are generally all inclusive vacations. Having paid for the cruise upfront, seniors need not be bothered with any hidden costs later on.
Caribbean cruises are a very popular vacation option. Several ocean liners offer excellent packages for seniors. Seniors can opt for a seven night East Caribbean cruise. This package could cost about $600, but it would be all inclusive. With this package senior vacationers would be able to visit Port Canaveral and Cococay on the first two days. The third day would be spent drifting on sea. Several on board activities can be chosen to spend time in an entertaining manner. Seniors usually opt for a game of cards or just relaxing on the deck taking in the sights. The other destinations covered would be Charlotte Amalie and Philipsburg followed by two more days at sea finally coming back to Port Canaveral on the last day.
The other options are a West Caribbean cruise and South Caribbean cruise. Seniors can choose from different packages that will take different routes. A cruise visiting Port Everglades, St. Marteen, Grenada, Barbados, Antigua, Tortola and Levantado interspersed with idyllic days at sea, would span ten days and cost around $900. Another popular cruise route is through San Juan, Oranjestad, Willemstad, Philipsburg, Charlotte Amalie and back to San Juan.
Special dietary needs are taken care of on board if previous intimation is given. All cruise liners have an infirmary staffed with para-medical personnel. This way, two main concerns of seniors are attended to.
